Conscience: think pink week

Everybody knows someone who has had, or is experiencing or who has recovered from breast cancer. Hopefully it’s the latter. One of the most high-profile diseases in the western world is breast cancer and it shows no sign of slowing down. Monday July 14 marks the start of Think Pink – Think Choices Week, an annual fundraising and awareness campaign for The Wesley Hospital Kim Walters Choices Program. The Choices program receives no funding from the government or any other breast cancer organisation and relies on the support of the community to help raise awareness and funds. Lyssy May handbag and gift boutique at Morningside is hosting a Think Pink Party to raise money for this important charity on Sunday July 20. Gold coin donations and larger donations are welcome and 15% of all sales on July 19 and 20 will be donated to the Kim Walter’s Choices program. Before the age of 75, 1 in 11 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. If you don’t know anyone that’s been affected by breast cancer now – you will someday, so get involved and support a worthwhile cause.
