Hey Emma ;) I feel your personal reaction to climate change and the impact it is having on animal species. However, to bring about massive social change, and on a deeper level, personal change, we do need to understand the economics of climate change. More importantly, the mass market needs to, since it is their consumption habits and behaviors who exact the most impact on our environment.

Thank you Emma for reminding me of that. It explains why my heart is hurting! A feeling I have felt for sometime now - from the impact of climate change. In saying that I am inspired by your comments and Josh's and it helps for an inspirational and challenging journey ahead. What a beautiful experience :)

Thank you Josh. Your explanation of a number of points in the Garnaut report makes good sense of the economics of climate change. I also understand your angst at the outcomes. I am attending GreenFest this weekend in Brisbane and have been blessed with hearing the wonderful Jane Goodall talk about her work with chimpanzees, and the premier screening of Whaledreaming this evening. Deep down we don't need to understand the economics of climate change, we just need to listen to our hearts and hear the cries of so many species facing extinction to inspire us to take action. We are all so different, yet we are all one on this planet. Bunna, an aboriginal elder sang to us tonight and in his beautiful and gentle way assured us that we all have a duty to look after Mother Earth and she will in turn take care of us. That's all I need to keep me going!

You're so right about action! Thanks for reading it Josh and offering your summary. I'm envious and would have loved to have been there to see Ross Garnaut talk :) It is a hard reality to grasp – I'm right there with you on that! If life is about achieving peace on the planet then doing your part to assist in helping solving climate change will certainly assist in achieving that goal. My father once said to me 'We don't inherit the land from our forefathers we borrow it from our children.' I agree united action is needed and I hope the report is just not a crystal ball. Thanks again for your comment.
