With major environmental and social issues confronting us at every corner of the globe, it is difficult to gain a wide perspective of the problems facing humankind. HOME, is a unique film developed by Yaan Arthus-Bertrand, which aims to explore the current state of our planet, shooting aerial images captured in more than 50 countries with the objective to increase awareness of the issues facing our Earth. Yaan has had the idea of HOME floating around in his head after his many travels around the globe. Feeling moved by what he saw when flying over the earth, he was compelled to inspire Earth’s 6 billion inhabitants to action. He aimed to make a film that is both magnificent and intelligent, but also steadfastly constructive. Yaan calls us to recognise the collective difference every being can make to reduce our impact on the environment and fellow mankind. Fashion house Gucci is funding the project, and in honour of the film, they are creating sustainable t-shirts made of 100% cotton, with all profits donated to goodplanet.org. HOME will be released on World Environment Day, June 5.
