DR SKETCHY’S ANTI-ART SCHOOL

Culture: DR SKETCHY’S ANTI-ART SCHOOL

Today I went to Dr Sketchy’s Anti Art School, which is a fun take on regular life-drawing classes.  It is a 3 hour session that combines the art of drawing in a burlesque bar, with music, comedy and interspersed drawing contests (like best left handed drawing, and best incorporation of some animal).  It is a format that started in New York but now happens worldwide, including in Brisbane.    Drawing really is a great exercise for anyone to do.   You can literally do it anywhere and it’s a wonderful way to express creativity but also sketching often forces you to slow down, notice and appreciate your world.
