MAXWELL THE RHINO

Conscience: MAXWELL THE RHINO

This is map magazine’s foster rhino, Maxwell.  He was rescued by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust three years ago when he was found wandering alone as a baby rhino in the Nairobi National Park. Maxwell suffers from “bilateral cataracts” in both eyes and so he is completely blind, but that doesn’t stop him from enjoying life – he likes porridge (three servings a day), mud baths and tummy rubs, and enjoys the regular visits to his stockade from his fellow elephant and rhino orphans who like to nudge him ‘hello’.  We receive updates about Maxwell’s antics every couple of months from the Wildlife Trust who do a wonderful job taking care of baby rhinos and elephants who have been orphaned by poachers or natural causes. If you’d like to foster your own rhino, you can read through through all the animals available for fostering on the website!

Awesome job guys! Rhinos are beautiful, as are all animals. Great to see the magazine getting behind the magestic creatures we share Earth with :)
