Say “Hi!” to your neighbours on May 30. Brisbane’s inaugural Meet The Street Day comes from a belief that people don’t talk on their streets in the way they use to. We have lost some of our sense of community. Streets bond together to form neighbourhoods. Neighbourhoods bond together to form Cities. Cities bond together to form Nations. Lets get people talking and maybe we can improve the community around us and make an impact. The concept of a single day is about ‘claiming the date’. It is meant to provide an easier way to help people get past the barrier of making the effort to organize a street event. There is an invitation to download, fill out and print out. You’ll be amazed about the connections you can make and how it can improve the quality of life on your street.
