In the depths of a Parisian district in the 1880s, an informal saloon opened its doors to eclectic poets, artists, dancers, musicians and creative fringe ideas. Sitting at low-set tables, sipping on strong liquor and celebrating the arts, patrons of the cabaret relished in a new form of expression. This month, QPAC welcomes the passion and vivacity of cabaret theatre, with its showstopping 12 Acts of Cabaret. Acts include Caroline Nin’s popular ode to Edith Piaf – Hymn A Piaf, and Sydney Cabaret Showcase winner Nick Christo. Until June 25 at QPAC.
