venture extreme indoor sports centre

Since the days of the California surf and skate teams, ‘freestyle’ sport and culture has become a global phenomenon as adrenaline junkies constantly look for new ways to test their skills, new gear and inherent madness. Unfortunately all extreme sports are limited by geographical boundaries making them harder for the masses to access – except in the UK. Well not yet, but two revolutionary extreme sports centres are in concept stage, to be built in Ipswich (Suffolk) and fashionable East London. Water-sports enthusiasts will be able to use an indoor surf centre, white-water course, canyoning centre and become PADI qualified. There will also be a climbing centre, high-rope system, caving system and ice climbing. And of course what’s an extreme sports centre without a snow-room for children and the standard skate, bmx and mountain-bike facilities. Venture Extreme will be the largest indoor sports centre of its kind and it looks like something, which would normally come out of Dubai, but I won’t speak to soon. The world of extreme/adventure sports represents a global market in excess of AUS $20 billion and is triggering other areas of growth such as fashion and tourism and in the long-term, the Venture Extreme team envisage four or five project across the UK supported by a number of smaller projects. We’re lucky in Australia to have access to all of the necessary terrains for adventure sports but to have them all under one roof would be… gnarls barkley?
