Somehow it’s now Autumn in Aus, and as we find ourselves pulling on our ugg boots (indoors only of course) – the other side of the earth is celebrating the return of warmth, light and life into their lives. Spring. Over the past month Persian countries have celebrated Nowruz. The holiday marks the beginning of Spring and the start of a new year on the Iranian calendar. It makes sense to begin the year in Spring doesn’t it? Where the snow has been laying for months new life, greenery and flowers appear, animals who have been in hibernation wake to a sunnier world. So Persians have begun writing their new years resolutions, while in Australia we’ve already had three months to accomplish ours – would you love the opportunity for a fresh start?
