For those interested in change, Campos Coffee has recently announced the release of its ‘Obama’ blend. Contrary to my first thoughts on the new blend, it’s not an alignment of colour, but one that signifies a shift in our world today. Owner of Campos Coffee John Ronchi declares, “It is not so much that we are fans of this man becoming President of the United States, but that he represents this current moment in history. There is a change going on in the world today and we wish to acknowledge that with our new blend.” As passionate followers of world politics, Campos Coffee’s managerial team couldn’t help but admire Obama, and his countries of origin read like a list of great coffee growing areas – with Kenya and Indonesia being producers of some of the finest Arabican coffee in the world. Like great political leaders the Obama blend has a great depth of character, a strong flavour and an eloquent finish. Uniting Africa and the Americas, this blend is an excellent drink for inspiring change and going forward and is best drunk before meetings.

It’s great to see such a unique (and enjoyable) nod to the world’s changing political climate!
Come on now, it’s just an old blend thats been re-labelled.
It’s just the tired old “Continental Espresso” with a slight change to the roasting profile.
Ho-hum, hopefully not a sign that Obama himself turns out to be nothing more than a poorly disguised has-been.
Thanks Matt – while it may be similar to the ‘tired old Continental Espresso’, at least it sparks conversation!
I think it’s a great idea. I would think Obama – by the very nature of his rise to presidential candidate – can never be a poorly disguised has-been. He is the first opportunity for a black american president. Surely that doesn’t constitute a ‘has-been’? BTW how do you know it’s an old blend?
